When you set up a new band, Home shows a four-step checklist called Get your band live. Each step ticks itself off once it's actually done — there's nothing to mark complete — and the checklist disappears when all four are finished.
1. Give BandBrain your tour
Home asks how your band keeps the tour and shows three equal options. You only need one, and you can add the others any time. The step ticks off as soon as any of them brings in tour data.
- Master Tour. Connect it on the Connectors page (paste your API key and secret, then tick this band's tours). BandBrain then knows every date, venue, schedule, hotel, and guest list, and keeps up with changes on its own. See Master Tour.
- Google Sheets / Drive. If your itinerary or day sheets are in a spreadsheet or doc, connect Google, then pick the itinerary and day-sheet files. BandBrain reads them in place and notices edits. See Google. Docs in Dropbox work the same way: Dropbox.
- Email, PDFs, anything else. Forward day sheets, itineraries, and advance emails to your band's BandBrain inbox (
<yourband>@bandbrain.ai, with a copy button on Home and on the Connectors page). Attachments and links come in too.
No Master Tour needed.
2. Get the band's text number
Go to Channels → SMS and get this band's phone number. Everyone on the roster texts this one number.
3. Add your band & crew
Go to Roster → + Add Member in the Band & Crew section. Add each person's name, role, and cell. They get one opt-in text from the band's number; once they reply YES they can text it for tour info. No app, no login. See Adding members.
4. Text it something
From your own phone, text the band's number a real question, like "what's the schedule tomorrow?" The first time, you'll get a YES/NO opt-in prompt; reply YES. Once your first text comes in, this step is done and you're live. See Texting BandBrain.
After that
- Send your first broadcast
- Set up a recurring automation
- Connect merch and money (Square, Stripe, your web store) under Money on the Connectors page
