MERCH REPORTS AND $/HEAD

Per-show merch sales, best sellers, inventory, $/head, and tour roll-ups from your Square merch table.

Once Square is connected, ask BandBrain about the merch table in plain language. These are admin / Full Access questions.

Tonight's numbers

  • "How'd merch do tonight?"
  • "What sold best last night, by size?"
  • "Merch for the Denver show?"

You get orders, units, net sales (what you made after tax, tips, and refunds), tips, and the top items. "Tonight" keeps meaning tonight's show until 4 AM local.

$/head

$/head is net merch sales divided by tickets sold. Tell BandBrain the count:

  • "Final count tonight was 412"
  • "We're projecting 650 for Saturday"

A final count always wins over a projected one, and BandBrain says which it used ("$11.20/head on 412 final"). It never uses presale numbers — presale leaves out walk-up and makes $/head look better than it was.

Current ticket counts

Separate from $/head, BandBrain keeps each show's current count: tickets sold so far, out of the sellable capacity, with when the count was taken and where it came from. This works without Square.

  • "Give me ticket counts for the Underoath shows"
  • "How many have sold for Chicago?"
  • "St. Louis is at 1,970 of 1,970" (records a new count)

On a support tour the count is usually the headliner's number for the whole show, and BandBrain says so. Current counts are never used for $/head, since they're not final attendance. They also don't update on their own: send a new count whenever you get one.

Inventory

  • "What's running low?"
  • "How many black tees in medium are left?"

Stock comes straight from Square. "Low" depends on size: medium, large, and XL under 15; small and XS under 8; everything else (2XL and up, one-size items, hats, stickers) at 5 or fewer. Items at zero that haven't sold in 30 days are treated as discontinued, not low. Items at zero that have been selling are flagged sold out.

Show and tour roll-ups

  • "Show P&L for last night" — merch, tickets, $/head, and the deal terms and merch split as written on the day sheet.
  • "Tour summary for the fall run" / "Merch from Oct 1 to Oct 20" — every show in the range with net sales, tickets, and $/head, plus totals and the average $/head across shows with ticket counts.

Online store vs. merch table

Square is your merch table at shows. Your web store (Squarespace) is separate — see Connecting Squarespace. If you just ask about "merch," BandBrain reports both, labeled.
