Connecting Squarespace lets BandBrain answer questions about the band's online store: how much it made, what sold, what still needs shipping, and what's in stock. It works on any Squarespace plan with a store.
Connecting
- Go to /dashboard/connectors
- Find Squarespace in the list → click Connect
- Sign in to Squarespace (as someone who can manage the band's site) and pick the band's website
- Click Allow
- You land back on BandBrain with Squarespace showing as Connected, labeled with the site's name
BandBrain asks for read-only access to orders, transactions, products, and inventory. It can't change prices, edit products, adjust stock, issue refunds, or touch the store's design.
The connection stays alive on its own. You never need to reconnect unless someone removes BandBrain from the Squarespace site.
What you can ask
Text, or use the dashboard chat:
- Money: "How much did the store make in September?" / "What did we net on the webstore last week after fees?" Gives order count, gross sales, discounts, shipping and tax collected, refunds, processing fees, and net.
- Best sellers: "What were our top sellers this month?" / "Which tee sizes sold most since the album dropped?" Units and revenue per product, or per size/color.
- Orders: "Any orders that haven't shipped yet?" / "Show me today's orders."
- Inventory: "How many black tees in medium are left?" / "What's running low?"
Dates are read in the store's own timezone (set in Squarespace), so "yesterday" means yesterday where the store is.
Who can ask
Store revenue and customer emails are finance data, so these questions are admin / Full Access only. Band and crew members get a polite refusal. Grant Full Access from /dashboard/roster.
Squarespace vs. Stripe
If the store takes payments through Stripe, those payments also show up in Stripe. Squarespace adds what Stripe can't see: which products and sizes sold, shipping status, and stock levels. Connecting both is fine; ask about "the store" for Squarespace detail and "Stripe" for payouts to the bank.
What it doesn't cover
- Site traffic (visitors, conversion rate) isn't available through Squarespace's API.
- Tour/table merch sold at shows isn't in Squarespace unless the band rings it up there. Merch sheets and forwarded seller reports still cover that.
- Very busy periods: one question reads up to about 1,000 orders or transactions. If a range is bigger, BandBrain says the totals are a lower bound. Ask for a shorter range.
Disconnecting
Click Disconnect next to Squarespace on the connectors page. To fully revoke access, also remove BandBrain in Squarespace under the site's connected/extension apps settings.
